On Twitter, a user, who goes by @AskAnshul shared the concerning encounter occurred when a boy was engrossed in his phone while a leopard walked by.
The post has descibed: “What an amazing presence of mind.
Mohit Ahire, a 12-year-old boy, locked a leopard inside an office cabin until assistance arrived in Malegaon & the leopard was rescued.
Mohit immediately informed his father, who is a security guard, that he trapped a leopard inside the office.”
In the footage, Mohit Ahire, a boy from Malegaon, Maharashtra, accompanied his father to a wedding hall.

Mohit sat on a bench, engrossed in his phone, while his father left the room.
Suddenly, a leopard casually entered from the street.
The large cat walked right past Mohit, who seemed unfazed by its presence.

He stood up and calmly exited the room, carefully closing the door behind him. The leopard, seemingly unaware of the boy, walked into an inner cabin of the office.

He even ensured that he safely trapped the animal inside by shutting the door.

Authorities respond to the situation
Following Mohit’s alert to his father about the trapped leopard, the wedding hall owner, Anil Pawar, immediately called for help.
Pawar explained that the office was small, measuring 22ft by 10ft, with two compartments.
Mohit had been sitting near the entrance, allowing him to escape just in time.
Vaibhav Hiray, the Malegaon range forest officer, confirmed that their personnel were nearby.
Once they received the call, they quickly dispatched a team from Nashik.
The five-year-old male leopard was subsequently tranquilized and safely rescued.
Mohit also shared his reflections on the encounter.
In an interview with the Times of India, Mohit described his experience: “The leopard was so close. There was hardly any space between the leopard and me. It walked into the inner cabin of the office right in front of me. I was scared, but I quietly got off the bench and sneaked out of the office. I closed the door behind me.”
