Irvington, New Jersey, a peaceful town, was recently shaken by the sight of a poor cat wandering around with its head trapped in a jar.
This distressing condition lasted for many days, and a rescue operation was soon initiated.

After several unsuccessful attempts, the community reached out for assistance on Facebook.
On Facbook, @Eileen DiNicola tagged a renowned animal rescue expert, John Debacker, hoping to free the cat from its perilous predicament as quickly as possible. Despite being Christmas Day, Debacker responded immediately and rushed to the scene.
“I was in New Jersey for Christmas when I got the call that the cat was in sight,” Debacker recalled.
The challenging rescue process
Local rescuer Eileen DiNicola documented the challenges on Facebook: “She ran into the yard next door that she couldn’t access, plus in an area with a bunch of junk which would make it impossible to set a trap or use a net. We were meeting there this morning armed with a net and a large carrier that Marcia brought in the hopes she would be in an area we could access”
He added: Neither Marcia nor I are experienced in netting, so it was a long shot.”
The cat was successfully rescued
When Debacker arrived at the scene, he managed to resolve the situation.
In a rescue video, Debacker skillfully handled the situation. He is seen quietly climbing over a fence and maneuvering through the pile of trash to avoid scaring the cat.
With precision, he scruffed the cat and placed her in a carrier before removing the jar from her head.
Currently, the cat is in stable condition and will soon be available for adoption. Plans are in place to spay her on Wednesday.
Another Cat Rescue: Trapped in an 80-Foot Concrete Pipe
In a related incident, another cat had its head stuck in the entrance of an 80-foot concrete pipe for two days. Viral photos showed its furry neck trapped in the small pipe hole.
After numerous attempts, locals managed to push her head through the pipe, allowing her to crawl out.
The cat, suffering from light scratches and swollen eyelids, was rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, she is now recovering well.
