In a startling incident captured by CCTV, two pit bull terriers were seen wreaking havoc on a parked SUV in Jacksonville, Florida. 

The footage reveals the dogs’ intense struggle to reach a cat, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle.

The CCTV footage, recorded overnight, shows the two pit bulls attacking a parked Honda SUV with remarkable force. 

The dogs were observed pulling and tearing at various parts of the vehicle, causing it to rock back and forth. 

The violent assault was an apparent attempt to reach a cat that had earlier scurried underneath the car.

The footage showed that the pit bulls, which appeared to be without collars, were either strays or had escaped from their owner. 

These pit bulls ripped apart an SUV, causing $3,000 worth of damage in a shocking incident.

While, the cat, which had taken refuge inside the engine block, successfully evaded the dogs’ reach, escaping unharmed.

Christie Barr, the owner of the damaged SUV, was shocked to discover nearly $3,000 worth of damage to her car the following day.

Christie told Inside Edition: “On the video you could see both of them tugging on it, and they were tugging so hard that my car moved.

“Nobody believed me until they saw it on tape. It’s just bizarre, nobody believed that dogs would do that.”

Barr added that the footage was essential in convincing others of the incident’s reality, saying, “Nobody believed me until they saw it on tape.”

The footage prompted a strong reaction from the public, with many expressing concern over the potential danger posed by the dogs. 

Comments on social media expressed concern about the $3,000 damage to the SUV caused by the pit bulls. 

Many suggested that if the dogs could do that much damage to a car, they could pose a serious threat to humans. 

Additionally, they emphasized that pet owners should be held accountable.

One person said: That’s so scary. Imagine if she had come out to go to her car when this was happening.

A second wrote: They were just trying to nanny the car. Poor sweet baby’s. Pitties iz so sweet.

While a third commented: Irresponsible dog ownership. They’ll just end up in a shelter. The rest is history. 

Another added: Pitty’s need to be trained. And so many do not bother to train them.

After the incident, Barr called for responsible pet ownership.

Barr also took the opportunity to issue a message to pet owners, urging them to ensure their pets are well-cared for and not left to roam the streets unsupervised. 

She advised, “You need to take care of them. Don’t let them be out running the streets during the middle of the night.”

The incident with the pit bulls and the SUV underscores the substantial damage uncontrolled animals can cause to property.
