Staff members at the animal hospital noticed Triton in a heartbroken situation after his family drove away forever, leaving him alone on a cold night.
The CCTV recorded the moment the dog was abandoned in this heartbreaking situation.
His owner parked the car, removed Triton, and drove away, leaving him behind. Triton watched, confused and heartbroken, as his owner drove off, leaving him alone in the parking lot.
Triton then was taken to VCA Greater Savannah Animal Hospital with a broken leg.
Triton was compassionately rescued after being abandoned by his family
Fortunately, staff members at the animal hospital noticed Triton and rushed to help.
They immediately contacted the Humane Society for Greater Savannah to inform them of the situation. The hospital staff performed X-rays and placed a cast on Triton’s leg, all free of charge. Their main goal was to help the pup, who had already suffered so much.
The Humane Society for Greater Savannah agreed to take Triton in and began searching for a foster family.
They aimed to find him a quiet home, away from the shelter, where he could recover peacefully.
“He is a timid boy who just needs love,” said Nina Schulze, the adoptions manager at the Humane Society. “He opens up when he feels safe.”
Triton has a new beginning after being abandoned
Luckily, it didn’t take long to find Triton a loving foster family. He is now healing and feeling much better.
“He is doing really well, recovering in peace and quiet, surrounded by a lot of love,” the shelter posted on Facebook. “We are so proud of how quickly he adapted to his cast. He loves his little hop out the front door. This sweet boy deserves ALL the love!”
Triton’s journey started off rough, but he is finally learning what love feels like. He is no longer looking back, embracing his new life filled with care and compassion.
