An abandoned dog was thrown away in a dumpster by her owner
In Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cumberland County Animal Services received a distressing call about a dog found in a dumpster.
On Facebook, Cumberland County Animal Services wrote:
“RESCUED!
Sadie needs a 501c3 rescue NOW! She is in isolation for an upper respiratory infection and we need a kennel in that area. Sadie is RESCUE ONLY because she bit her owner after being provoked. Sadie pottied in the house and she bit her owner after being physically disciplined. After the incident, the owner threw her in the dumpster.
She is now in danger of being euthanized. We really want to see this girl find her forever. “
The post quickly received much concern from animal lovers and calls for Sadie’s rescue. Meanwhile, many criticized Sadie’s former owner.

Sadie faced to danger of being euthanized
Sadie, as she was initially known, had been thrown away by her owner after a biting incident.
According to the shelter, Sadie had bitten her owner after being physically disciplined for going to the bathroom inside the house. This led to her being abandoned in the dumpster, putting her life in jeopardy.
The shelter quickly took to social media, sharing Sadie’s plight and the urgency of her situation. The shelter hoped to find Sadie her forever home, as she faced the threat of euthanasia if a rescue couldn’t be found soon.
Sadie was fortunate to be given a second chance
Thankfully, Sadie’s story did not end there. Victoria McGonigal, founder of Dochas N Gra Animal Rescue in South Carolina, stepped in to save the day.
Determined to give Sadie a second chance, Victoria brought her to the sanctuary. “I wasn’t gonna let this poor girl die for no reason,” Victoria told WRAL.
Sadie started a new beginning after her second chance
After being rescuse, Sadie renamed Sydney, the dog is now adjusting to her new life at the farm sanctuary.
Sydney left behind of her past andhas shown herself to be a loving and affectionate dog.
Victoria, understanding the circumstances of the biting incident, holds no grudge against Sydney. “It was something that was not in her control… You have to give them a chance,” she said.
Sydney is currently receiving medical care for an upper respiratory infection.
Her future, whether it will be living permanently on the farm or being put up for adoption, remains uncertain. However, one thing is clear: Sydney’s new start is filled with love and care.
