In Melbourne, a rescuer found a vulnerable young possum that had fallen off its mother’s back and brought her to the Boronia Veterinary Clinic.

According to Bored Panda, Dr. Stephen Reinisch of Boronia Veterinary Clinic recalled the day the golden possum first arrived
“She lit up the room with her bright yellow fur,” he said.
The possum, estimated to be around five months old, should have still been with her mother.
Despite the unfamiliar situation, she was in good spirits and health. After spending a night at the clinic, she was collected by a carer who ensured her safety and well-being.

The standard color for a brushtail possum is brown, but variations can occur. “They can have less common color variations like this special yellow possum,” Dr. Reinisch explained.

She lived with a carer until she was ready to be released into a wildlife preserve, ensuring her safety in a natural environment.
