A cat was spotted in a strange position and immediately rescued
The incident occurred on Friday, June 21, when the Grand Canyon National Park Service (NPS) spotted the black-and-white feline uncomfortably balancing itself on a branch, approximately 15 feet in the air.
The rescue team humorously described the situation as ‘tree-climbing for the purr-fect panorama’ and requested help in identifying the cat’s owners.
Local ABC affiliate WABC reported that the cat had been in this position for five days. Despite efforts from the FDNY, who had previously tried and failed to rescue the cat, it was the combined efforts of firefighters and first responders that ultimately led to the successful rescue.
After many rescue efforts, the cat finally returned to the loving embrace of its owner
According to the Grand Canyon NPS, the team made efforts to rescue the cat near the park’s Mather Campground on the South Rim.
An image shared shows a firefighter propping up a ladder against the pine tree, climbing to reach Archie, while another first responder held the ladder steady.
By 1 p.m., the daring “furry adventurer” was safely brought down from the heights.
