On April 23, Rachelle, a TikTok user, took her daughter and friends to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle for a birthday celebration.

Rachelle later shared the video on TikTok with the caption, “A Nat Geo train wreck for my daughter’s birthday, thanks Juniper!”

The children eagerly approached the enclosure of Juniper, a brown bear. Juniper had previously roamed alone in Alaska and was now in a habitat with logs, rocks, and a pool.

However, it wasn’t the enclosure’s features that caught Juniper’s attention that day.

The footage showed the children watching Juniper with joy. They were also excited when they noticed a mother duck and her ducklings swimming in the pool.

Unbeknownst to the ducks, Juniper was watching them closely. Suddenly, the bear leaped into the water and charged at the unsuspecting birds.

Panic erupted as the onlookers screamed and pounded on the glass to deter Juniper. Unfortunately, the bear was undeterred. She grabbed one of the ducklings and quickly devoured it, then turned her attention to the remaining ducks.

This shocking sight was not the birthday celebration the children had expected.
