Construction workers rescued a dog trapped and struggling in a canal by using an excavator
In a heartwarming incident, construction workers heroically saved a puppy trapped in a fast-flowing canal.
The workers managed to use an excavator to rescue the desperate animal. The heartwarming story turns a perilous situation into a tale of compassion and bravery.
The workers spotted a dog trapped in a nearby canal.
On social media, a group of construction workers noticed a dog struggling in a nearby canal.
A poor pet was trapped, struggling to survive in fast-flowing water filled with debris. The current carried the dog away, and it was barely able to keep its head above water.
Construction workers decided to use a digger to rescue four-legged friend
Realizing the urgency, the workers quickly devised a plan to save the dog.
Abel Murillo, one of the builders, took on the crucial role.
He climbed into the compartment of an excavator and was lowered directly above the canal.
As the current brought the dog closer, Murillo reached out and grabbed it, pulling the animal into the excavator compartment.
The rescue was not without its challenges due to the swift current.
The strong current made it difficult for Murillo to get a firm grip, causing him to hold the loose skin on the pet’s back.
This unintended action frightened the dog, leading it to bite Murillo’s hand out of fear.
Despite the pain, Murillo held on, ensuring both he and the puppy were safely lifted from the canal.
Both were brought to safety under the cheers of other workers who witnessed this touching incident.
The dog suffered a bad condition from being immersed in the water for too long.
After being rescued, the poor furry friend appeared dazed and exhausted from its prolonged struggle in the water
Murillo, too, required medical attention for his hand injury. The community quickly rallied, donating money to cover Murillo’s hospital expenses and ensuring the puppy received veterinary care.
Murillo shared about the risky rescue moment: “We decided to use an excavator to save it as quickly as possible because it was exhausted while struggling with the fast water.
“Thank God, we succeeded in saving it and giving it a second chance at life,” he added.
He also emphasized that the dog’s bite was a natural reaction to fear, not aggression.
After about 20 minutes, the retriever was completely normal and was discharged from the hospital.
People believe that the dog accidentally fell into the canal while looking for food around here.
The canal was quite deep and extremely fast-flowing.
This made it impossible for the dog to swim to shore. After struggling for a long time in the fast water, the man’s best friend almost drowned before being rescued by construction workers.
