However, Frosty’s journey from a homeless cat to an adored pet with a new diet plan has captivated cat lovers.

Frosty, a 13kg (2st) feline who has recently captured hearts with his extraordinary size and lovable nature. However, many cat lover suggested that he need to a new diet plan and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Frosty, dubbed for his resemblance to Wendy’s calorie-packed dessert, was discovered abandoned.

He was overweight, with a weight three times the average for domestic cats. Frosty even was heavier than many medium-sized dogs.

Frosty’s weight left many stunned, as it was impossible for him to fit into a standard cat cage.

Frosty has a new beginning after being rescued.

After being rescued by Richmond Animal Care and Control, Frosty’s fortunes took a turn for the better. 

On Thursday, the shelter announced that Frosty had been adopted.

“Adopted! You know we love a cat with a belly, and lord almighty this one has the best belly in town,” the shelter posted on Facebook, celebrating his new beginning.

Frosty’s new owner, Maggie Thompson, a regional account manager from Stafford, Virginia.

She has committed to helping him lose weight and manage his diet. 

Despite his “crankiness,” the shelter noted that Frosty’s love for food makes him a “perfect” pet as long as his appetite is satisfied. Maggie has promised to provide the best care for Frosty and has even renamed him Gus.

Maggie’s announcement about adopting Frosty received a warm response from the community. 

The owner of another notably large cat, Patches, who weighs nearly 20kg (3.1st), congratulated Maggie and expressed her admiration. 

“OMG!!!!! He’s beautiful! I might have to discuss this with Patches, Wellesley, and Bella,” she said.

In the comment selection, many also joined in the celebration, with messages of support and congratulations for both Frosty and his new owner. 

While some others hope that Frosty adopts a new diet plan and embraces a healthier lifestyle.

One person said: Well he’s probably cranky because his body hurts from all that weight. He’s beautiful though.
