When Gracie was born, her family decided they couldn’t handle her special needs and abandoned her.

Left outside a vet’s office, she was in a dire state—covered in maggots and missing fur around her eyes, paws, and tail.

Fortunately, the vet contacted Mostly Mutts, an animal shelter in Kennesaw, Georgia, where Gracie found her second chance.

The Turley family, who runs Mostly Mutts, quickly fell in love with puppy.

Although they initially planned to find her a new home, they soon realized they couldn’t part with her. They decided to adopt her themselves.

For the Turleys, Gracie’s disability didn’t make her any less deserving of love.

In fact, they embraced her unique spirit and welcomed her into their family.

One was paralyzed in his hind legs, and the other had only three legs.

Despite their differences, they formed a joyful bond, showing that disabilities don’t define who you are.

Gracie is offered a LEGO wheelchair solution to help her move

As Gracie grew, it became clear that she needed a wheelchair to move around more easily.

However, because she was still a growing puppy, a permanent wheelchair wasn’t an option yet.

That’s when a brilliant idea came to life—Dylan, a 12-year-old volunteer at Mostly Mutts, was tasked with building Gracie a wheelchair out of LEGO bricks.

The first LEGO wheelchair was a success, allowing Gracie to zip around with newfound freedom.

As she grew, Dylan built two more wheelchairs, each one taller than the last, to accommodate her growth.

Thanks to Dylan’s creativity and dedication, a dog was able to move comfortably until she was ready for a permanent, adult-sized wheelchair.
