In March of last year, Goran Marinkovic from Kraljevo, Serbia, found an abandoned puppy in a heartbreaking situation.
The tiny dog was taking shelter in a discarded shoe, using it as a makeshift home.
Goran, known for his dedication to helping stray animals, was deeply moved by the sight.
“I save animals that are endangered, that live on the street. I take care of animals because I love them,” Goran told Bored Panda.
“I feed abandoned animals on the street that are not getting food from humans and have no owners. Their numbers are constantly rising.” She added.
The poor dog has a new beginning after being rescued.
Goran immediately recognized the gravity of the situation and decided to take the puppy in.
The little dog, later named Coco, was weak and struggling to walk.
She was not only malnourished but had also been abandoned in a pitiful state.
“I accidentally turned around and saw this little dog. His sibling was lying dead a few meters away,” Goran recounted. “He was running out of strength. As I always have dog food with me, I immediately offered him a meal, which he accepted.”
Coco has transformed into a pampered pet and is now ready for adoption.
Goran nursed Coco back to health, and her transformation was remarkable.
As Coco gained strength, her vibrant personality began to shine through.
Goran shared her story on social media, which led to numerous adoption inquiries. Eventually, Coco found a loving home in Germany.
After a visit to the vet, it was clear that Coco required extensive care, which Goran provided with dedication.
“Words can’t describe the puppy’s size and how hungry he was. He was smaller than the size of a shoe. He was thrown out by bad people who literally left him in the dump,” Goran explained.
Now, Coco lives a life of luxury, far from the hardships of her past.
Goran remains in touch with Coco’s new family, receiving updates and photos that showcase her joyful and healthy new life.
Coco is currently traveling with her new family, a testament to her new beginning.
Goran’s commitment to helping stray animals continues.
He feeds over 100 strays in his community, a labor of love he funds from his own pocket.
