TikTok user Caitlin Elizabeth stumbled upon a tiny, furry creature in a pile of trash while out one day. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a newborn baby cat.

“It’s still alive, I cannot believe it,” Caitlin exclaimed in her viral TikTok video. “I thought it was dead. It is freaking ice cold, poor little baby.”

Caitlin rushed the kitten back to her car. With experience caring for bottle-fed little cat, she was prepared but concerned. The little little cat was extremely small and had been exposed to the cold for an unknown time.

Upon closer examination, Caitlin noticed the kitten’s stomach was full of dirt. He had been eating dirt in a desperate attempt to survive. Caitlin quickly cleaned him up. Once warm and clean, the kitten began wiggling around with newfound energy.

Initially unsure of the kitten’s chances of survival, Caitlin was certain of one thing: he was a fighter.

The kitten is now doing well. He eats heartily and is building strength. Caitlin’s own cat, Echo, who was also rescued as a bottle baby, watches over the new addition. Echo is fascinated by her foster brother, as if she remembers her own struggles.

“I just cannot get over how obsessed Echo is with him,” Caitlin remarked.
