The footage, now described as “incredible,” shows a large creature walking from left to right.

Becky nearly missed the chance to document the sighting. She recounted, “We watched it for about 20 seconds on zoom before I realized I hadn’t pressed record.”

Becky speculates that recent construction work in the area may have disrupted the animal’s habitat, leading to its unusual appearance in the field.

Expert analysis of the footage

According to experts, this ‘incredible’ footage may provide evidence of large cats roaming the UK countryside.

Matt Everett, director of the Amazon documentary Panthera Britannia Declassified, remarked, “It’s pretty good evidence. Even without scaling, you can tell it is a large cat. The exact location of the sighting is being kept secret to protect the animal from hunters.”

Tim Whittard, co-producer of Panthera Britannia Declassified, added, “The birds seemed agitated, which is consistent with the presence of a predator. I think it’s an incredible sighting.”

Since the release of the documentary, there has been a notable increase in eyewitness reports and photographic evidence of big cats in the UK.

“The documentary has changed public perception,” said Whittard. “It’s no longer a matter of ridicule for eyewitnesses. Findings like the leopard DNA in the Stroud Valleys in 2022 have bolstered public confidence.”

Theories behind the big cat

The prevalent theory about the presence of big cats in the UK involves animals released from private collections.

During times of meat shortages, particularly during and after World War II, and following the 1976 law restricting wild animal ownership, some big cats were set free.

They have since been breeding and preying on local wildlife, including deer and rabbits. Experts estimate there could be as many as 600 such big cats now roaming the British countryside.

The video quickly shared on social media and sparked debate.

The ‘incredible’ footage was then shared on X, leaving viewers shocked.

While some suggested that the ‘big cat’ was just relaxing, others claimed this is an unbelievable sighting of a wild animal.

The footage provides some of the clearest evidence yet of big cats in the UK wilderness. Wow! Incredible.
