After the tense exchange, the woman nonchalantly climbs back over the fence and returns to safety.

The ‘big cat’, which weighs nearly 650 pounds and was born in 2016, places its paws on the wire, a clear sign of its agitation.

This prompts the woman to realize the severity of the situation and leave the scene.

The video quickly went viral and sparked debate on social media

In the comments section, many viewers criticized her actions. Meanwhile, some suggested that she should be imprisoned.

One person said: Hope the tiger is OK. Serves the stupid cow right.

A second wrote: Serves her right, stupid woman.

While a third commented: But if animals fight back they kill the animal…smh

Another added: Psychological testing is needed for her. She could have endangered the tiger, since animals get germs from people.

Someone else said: The ‘Feline hunter’ should be freed, and she should be caged for sheer stupidity alone… common sense clearly isn’t so common!

Zoo and police response to the incident

The Bridgeton Police Department is actively seeking the woman involved in the incident.

John Medica, Director of Recreation and Public Affairs for the City of Bridgeton, condemned the behavior, stating, “Any visitor behavior that places the animals, staff, and members of the public in a potentially dangerous situation is unacceptable and will be addressed accordingly.”

The ‘big cat’ in question, one of two brothers in the enclosure, was donated to the zoo from North Carolina.

Bengal tigers are the second largest tiger species after the Siberian tiger and are native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and southwestern China.

This alarming event underscores the importance of respecting zoo boundaries.

It also highlights the inherent dangers of interacting with wild animals.

The Cohanzick Zoo and local authorities are taking steps to address the incident and prevent future occurrences.
