Destiny Gomez, 24, who worked to rehome stray pets, was deeply affected by the video.
She shared a video on Instagram, and the heartbreaking moment quickly brought tears to viewers’ eyes.

Gomez took to Instagram to share the video with her extensive network of dog lovers.
Her post quickly gained traction, and she soon received a tip about the dog’s possible location. “We also got coordinates of streets like where someone saw him, so they were like, ‘Can you go there?’” Gomez said.
In the comment selection, many people couldn’t hold back their tears when they saw the dog frantically trying to cling to its owner’s car after being abandoned.
Meanwhile, others criticized the owner for heartlessly leaving the poor dog behind.

Following the tip, Gomez’s boyfriend ventured into the neighborhood where the dog was last seen. Miraculously, within hours, he found the abandoned dog, who appeared unharmed.
Gomez and her boyfriend ensured the dog was well-fed and groomed.
They renamed him Chico and arranged for him to stay with a foster parent in nearby Palos Verdes. “People have been DM’ing me saying that they want him and they can pick him up today but I really want to go through a rescue first,” Gomez explained.
